An interview with 4 time Trans Am Champion Tommy Kendall.  In a direction totally different then normal interviews with pro drivers Shaun and Tommy discuss sim racing.  How it has evolved over the years, its real use as a tool for real life drivers, and how it sizes up as a motorsport.  This interview happened during the CXC Simulations Open House Party on April 13th, 2013.

Test Drive in the CXC Motion Pro II simulator.  CXC began making these rigs years ago and since then they have seen many refinements.  This is their flagship model with all of the bells and whistles.  I ran this drive with a go pro so that you can get a sense of the motion.

We take a drive in the ultimate Champcar simulator.  This incredible sim was a custom built rig that CXC Simulations did for one of their customers.  It is a real Champcar full carbon chassis that has had sim equipment installed into it.  It has a servo motor wheel mounted to the same bulkhead mounts as the original wheel.  The real pedals of the Champcar have been converted to work in games.  It has tactile transducers within the chassis that you can really feel and hear, especially on shifting.  This is the best simulation experience that I have ever had.

Presenting our recap of the 2nd Annual March on Michigan event that took place on March 30th 2013 in iRacing. The NASCAR Chevy Silverado Trucks raced at the high banks of Michigan for 150 laps or 300 miles. More than 800 drivers raced in this event. An extra video from the iRace4life seminars in Dallas, Tx.  In March 2013 iRace4life put on these seminars and while there we had the chance to drive this incredible simrig.  This rig belongs to Randy Freeman who brought it to the show.  We got a chance to see what it is like.  This rig was one of many at the event this year.

Shaun Cole drives the Formula Mazda at Twin Ring Motegi  for 17 laps of racing fun. This if the official iRacing series race from Satruday March 2nd at 9:45pm PST.  This turned into a great race with one of the best "Gentleman Racer" moves I have seen in a long time. Shaun is driving on a Human Racing GT Chassis and using a Thrustmaster T500 wheel with the Ferrari add on.  In this race he is running using a Geforce NVIDIA 690 video card.

Shaun Cole drives the Star Mazda at Okayama for 31 laps of racing fun.  This if the official iracing series race from Monday February 4th at 9:45pm PST. Shaun is driving on a Human Racing GT Chassis and using a Thrustmaster T500 wheel with the Ferrari add on.

This episode begins with a Lotus 49 preview video. Next, iRacingTV catches up with Ray Alfalla the two-time NASCAR iRacing Series Champion in Homestead. The inRacing News Challenge race from Thursday Night.  This was the top split in that series as Shaun takes them on in his new RSeat Formula Racing rig.  He is also using a Thrustmaster T500 with the Ferrari Wheel add on.  It is a pretty competitive race that turns ugly for Shaun.

iRacing just released this video trailer of the new McLaren MP4-12C. The video that states that the MP4 will be released just in time for Christmas on December 18th for all of us road racing sim enthusiasts that iRace. I know I'm looking forward to driving it.. Are you ?

Being able to spectate any race on the iRacing service is a valuable tool for learning how to be a sim racer. Also, you can ghost race - be on track and drive against other racers, allowing you to see where others are braking, turning in and accelerating. It is great practice and does not effect your iRating or Safety Rating.

iRacing has posted some extended footage of the upcoming NASCAR Nationwide car that I originally thought was coming with the new build, but it's due in early May. Check out this footage of it..

Check out this preview video of Dave Kaemmer's new tire physics model. Iracing is saying that it's the biggest leap forward in sim racing since Grand Prix Legends. Based on a conversation I had with Dave a while back about the basis of the current tire model. He said most a lot of it was from GPL. This is slated to be released this Wednesday April 27th based on a forum post on iRacing stating the service will be down for maintenance for the new build. That should include the new tire model on the Nationwide along with Okayama and the updated Skip Barber model.  Looking forward to checking it out !

iRacing debuted their new track Okayama that will be free to all members and the new design of the Skip Barber Formula 2000 car. The update will be free to all current owners of the car.  Both will be available in the build thats coming this May 2011.

iRacing and Intel brought the 10 best sim racers from around the world and put them head to head with $4,000 going to the winner. The competition takes place in Hannover Germany at Cebit and in conjunction with the Intel Extreme Master tournament going on.
