Buttkicker 2

Postby PAPA » Tue Jul 27, 2010 9:45 pm

Hi all

If you do not have a buttkicker get one, you will not be disappointed.

Have been running mine for a few weeks and did not really notice how much deference it makes. The other day I forgot to turn it on, I was playing and something just did not feel right, I just could not get into the game. Then I twigged and turned it on. My game was back :D

One thing I will say buy another y splitter, you only get one but then you get rumble from the left or right not both ( 360 ) so it was a little bit of work to make it run as I wanted but well worth it.

Hi there!

I've got my self a buttkicker gamer 2 and I noticed one problem! I connect one of the RCA cables as they say to the line in on the amp.... but I notice I get only a side of rumble!

What I mean is if I get the right side of my car over a berm (that red and white thing I dont remember what you call it but it makes the car shake) it shakes very nice and I can feel the bumps!

But....if I try and use the left side of the car on those bumps it doesn't rumble so strongly!

So I was using the red cable on the line in! Now I try the black cable and I get the same thing but on the other side!

What can I do to make this ok?

I connect all my Buttkickers to the center/sub out of the sound source and depending on which of the two cables is center or sub. The sub is the one I use.

The down side of connect both left and right channels to the Buttkicker is you lose stereo sound. You have two options , either hook it up to center/sub channel if you running 5.1 (X360 sound coming from HDMI is only 2.1) or you can buy a Boostaroo Portiable Amp and hook it to the line going to your Buttkicker (not to your speakers since you lose some signal when the amp is off) . You don't need batteries unless you want to boost the signal going to the Buttkicker.
You can get one at Amazon ; http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... y=0&ih=7_1
This will allow you to have both channels running to the Buttkicker without losing stereo sound. ( you will still need an extra y splitter.)

if not mistaken, the buttkicker gamer2, must be connected to the sub channel - the bas sound. In this way you will have rumble effects both when you hit the left curn and right curb.

Is that right? correct me if i'm wrong.

I had a spare home cinema amp so I hooked mine up to that from the sub out. Those who don't have one kicking round could use another splitter.

So if I use another Y spliter and connect the 2 rca's there and then to the buttkicker input I will loose my headphones stereo?!

I've tried connecting the buttkicker to the bass input on the sound card but I get no response!

As soon as you connect both left and right channels to a Y splitter you lose stereo even without hooking up to Buttkicker. With an amp the input signal is always separate from the output.

@ jefcam
I have my X360 connect to the monitor/HDTV by HDMI (I have component yet that no help either) which means the TV will only output in stereo. So no sub channel including from my 2.1 PC speakers.

I had this same problem. Look in the properties of your sound card for 'base redirect' and see what your options are for that setting. If you do not get the help here try their tech support. They were very helpful when I had the same issue.

How do you lose stereo ?

Subs do not run in stereo, a buttkicker is just a silent sub.

The splitter you get with it, still gives the signal to what ever you want, so you need another splitter and a two into one lead. And you should still have stereo.

Or you could just run two buttkickers ;)
