you guys liked f1 79 ,Amarillo and prologue open wheelers then you guys gotta try this f1 1971 its awesome and a blast to drive
would love to see the placement on this because i think its better than the 1st three mentioned in this post but that just my opinion would like to see what you think and anyone else
. all the cars are great but i prefer the lotus because the mirrors -1 up 1 down - so kewl, clear field of view and the awesome suspension bouncing .i love when you can see the tires bouncing up & down lol thanks Ron smith

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the post.. I've actually downloaded it and will be test driving it today. I've had my eye on it and we weren't going to do any more open wheelers for TSC for a while..but I can't resist this one !

Based on what Im hearing about it, Most likely it will be on a future TSC segment..

Thanks

This mod is proof that when it comes to realistic physics, you can fool most of the people most of the time, especially when the mod concerns cars the average sim-racer doesn't have a clue about. The cars drive well enough but the physics is badly out in at least a couple of fundamental areas - weight distribution and suspension stiffness/travel.

I did not want to bring it up but since the door has been open. This is a LE version. IE: league edition so all the cars pretty well perform the same since they have the same physics model to make equal racing in a league setup so not everybody end up using the best car (like the Lotus a while back in another mod league edition racing). There will be a historic version coming. The cars in this version do look good in most cases.

Thank you David for confirming what we found. We loved the models but the physics were off especially in the front end and tires.

I was thinking, this could do much better than it did and i think a good idea would be to 're-do' the segment when they bring out the proper Historical Edition. Then the cars will (or at least should) have a much better physics model as it will be different for each car.

BTW, is there a list somewhere of the games you have reviewed, both sim and arcade.

I think it would be good if you could create a little competition for these games. Like TSC, you could have a list of the top-scoring games, and because they (Sim and arcade) are scored differently you should separate the list or indicate which were scored as sims and which were scored as arcade.

There is no reason why the league version should have inferior physics. The cars should either all use the physics from one of the "real" cars or should be an "average". Why should the league version use a weight distribution which none of the real cars had?

well Dave.. as you know, all teams cars had a different distribution of weight, in the LE version this gives the chance to adjust to something you may like better... the Historic cars will have no adjustments.. it will be set as they are in real life...
and i think if i were magicaly able to incert a real F1 car in the game some how, you wouldn't like it...lol
